Days in Midgard: A Thousand Years On

It is some
time around 1700 in rural Sweden. A farmer, Ketil Gunnarson, has had a
bad year: a cattle plague has wiped out most of his livestock, and the
local pack of wolves is after the rest. Furthermore, his wife, Sigrid,
is long since tired of a life that is a good deal less elegant than
she's accustomed to.

Late in the afternoon of Midwinter's Eve, two guests arrive unexpectedly at Ketil's farm. One is a one-eyed old man who gives Sigrid the shivers. The Solstice Guests
Join these four for dinner, and then for a few stories told around the fire. Hear about Ketil's years as a mercenary before he settled down, and about his custom-made musket that's leaning up against the wall right over there.
